This bag is not a Fanny Pack!
Founded in 2012 by Debra Denniston and her two daughters, Rachel and Kate, Hipsters for Sisters is a Los Angeles-based brand that offers a witty alternative to traditional handbags. Their collection of functional, hands-free belt handbags that sit on the hip is as stylish as well-designed, ethical AND eco-friendly.
Wearable design, which innovatively combines classic style and versatility with a minimalist aesthetic
The designers use fabrics made of recycled fibers like Ultrasuede or Sensuede, 100% natural hemp webbing , 100% organic cotton and other eco-friendly alternatives to materials traditionally used in the accessory industry, like polyurethane fabric instead of leather and PVC. These materials are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified (the ultimate benchmark of environmentally safety) to be environmental conscious. “This means,” explains Debra Denniston, “that it is free from organic solvents, odors and environmental toxins such as formaldehyde, pesticides, phenols, chlorine, heavy metals, carcinogenic and allergy-inducing dyes.”
All bags are strictly produced locally and ethically in Los Angeles… finally convenient belt bags as chic as utilitarian are on the market!
